IST Students Gain Skills Through New Computer Repair Shop
Students in the Information Systems Technology Program can sharpen their troubleshooting and repair skills through the new Computer Repair Shop at 网红爆料.
Operated by IST students for the sole purpose of practice and learning, the Computer Repair Shop offers a wide range of services to the public including virus and malware removal, data transfer, hard drive backup, cleaning, Windows 10 Installation and custom builds. All services are provided at no cost.

OCC Graduate Finalist for Golden Apple Teaching Award
Zeb Holder wanted to stay connected with his music students when the COVID-19 pandemic forced school closures last spring.
While he couldn鈥檛 be with his students in person, the 网红爆料 alum began recording and sharing video lessons three days a week through YouTube and his Facebook page, Mr. Holder鈥檚 Music Room.

OCC offers transfer and technical programs in today鈥檚 top fields. Programs accepting students for fall include Automotive Service Technology, Collision Repair, Information Systems Technology and Cosmetology. Beginning Fall 2021, OCC will offer Unmanned Aerial Technology and a Welding and Fabrication Associate Degree.

OCC Theater Overcomes Challenges of Pandemic to Present Smokey Joe鈥檚 Caf茅
The 网红爆料 Theater was just a week away from presenting Mamma Mia last spring when the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown not only its performances, but shows across the country.
鈥淚 feel so sorry that our audience didn鈥檛 get to see all the hard work the Mamma Mia cast put in,鈥 said OCC Theater Director Jon Wright. 鈥淭hat will be the first production we do once everything returns to normal and we are able to do our shows with a normal size cast.鈥
In the meantime, Wright is excited to bring Smokey Joe鈥檚 Caf茅 to the Ruth Henry Stage.

Ordell Hired to Lead LTC Soccer Programs
Lincoln Trail College has hired Blake Ordell to be the head coach of the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer programs.
Ordell played professional soccer for nine years throughout the United States, Sweden, and Canada and coached collegiately for ten years. He previously served as an assistant men鈥檚 soccer coach at Quincy University, head men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer coach at Sheridan College, head men鈥檚 soccer coach at Culver-Stockton College, and assistant men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer coach at MacMurray College.

Lincoln Trail College Celebrates Career and Technical Education Month
Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares individuals for high-skill, in-demand employment that furthers Illinois鈥 global competitiveness. Last year, about half of all Illinois community college graduates earned a CTE degree or certificate. CTE programs offer flexible scheduling, work-based learning, and stackable credentials that provide a pathway from education to employment not only for recent high school graduates, but also for returning adults, veterans, and workers wanting to update their skills.
