Ellis to Appear as John James Audubon Sept. 26
Renowned author, storyteller, museum consultant and naturalist Brian “Fox” Ellis will present a special program as John James Audubon at 챬.
The event, hosted by the Ridgeway Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society, will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 26 in Dr. Kent Wattleworth Hall, Room 203. The program is free and open to the public, including OCC students, faculty and staff.

IECC To Observe Constitution Day
Illinois Eastern Community Colleges will observe Constitution Day on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 (www.iecc.edu/usa). The IECC colleges will observe Constitution Day with a variety of activities and resources to promote the study of the Constitution.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Wabash Valley College held Warrior Day, a meet and greet that introduced the community to the bass fishing and archery club sports teams. Holdreith Joins LTC as Speech and English Instructor
Lincoln Trail College is proud to welcome Abby Holdreith as its new Speech and English Instructor.
Holdreith’s path to LTC has been paved with dedication to the field of education. A native of Olney, Illinois, she knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a career in teaching, inspired by several family members who were administrators.
After attending 챬, Holdreith graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. From there, she started her teaching career.

OCC Alum Completes Summer REU at Harvard
챬 alum Robert Wray engaged in cutting-edge research this sum-mer as an intern with the prestigious Genes, Ecosystems and Organisms REU at Harvard University.
Wray, a senior zoology major at Southern Illinois University, was one of just 25 students selected — from more than 550 applicants nationwide — to participate in the Research Experience for Undergraduates.

OCC Community Choir Rehearsals Start September 10
챬 Director of Choral Activities Dr. Andrew Pittman is excited to announce that the OCC Community Choir will start its 14th season with rehearsals at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
“Our holiday pop pieces were such a success last year,” Pittman said. “The choir really enjoyed them, and it was such fun. This year we will again feature a lighter fare.”
